Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-07-25

Draft. This document is pending legal review and a Portuguese translation before public launch.

These terms govern your use of What's happening?, operated by a equipa Agora. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

What the service is

A crowd-sourced, map-first way to report and discover what is happening at a location right now. Reports are submitted by users and are not verified or official. Do not rely on them for safety-critical decisions — in an emergency, contact the official services (112 in Portugal).

Your account

You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You must be at least 16 years old to use the service.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • post false, misleading, unlawful, hateful, harassing or infringing content;
  • post other people's private information, or content that endangers others;
  • spam, scrape, overload, or attempt to break or misuse the service;
  • impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. You grant us a licence to host, display and distribute it within the service so it can appear on the map and to other users. You are responsible for what you post and confirm you have the right to share it.

Moderation

We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach these terms, and trusted community editors ("Local Heroes") may correct reports to keep the map accurate. Corrections are logged and can be reverted.

Official data & third parties

Official layers (Proteção Civil / Incêndios Directo, IPMA weather warnings, Open-Meteo) are provided by third parties "as is"; we don't guarantee their accuracy, completeness or availability.

Disclaimers & liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for decisions made based on user-submitted or third-party information. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access for breaches of these terms.

Governing law & contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Questions: privacy@agoraaqui.pt.
